Former Jobs

My page-a-day calender included a page about Jack Nicholson and Jerry Seinfeld, and the menial jobs that they’ve performed in the past to make ends meet before they made it big. It made me think about all of the jobs that I’ve held in the past. I’ve decided to list them chronologically (for as many as I can remember.) Here goes….

  1. Working for my grandfather as a handy man from about age 5 until I was about 13.
  2. Sonic — Flipping burgers.
  3. Albertsons — Sacker.
  4. Shakey’s Pizza — Cook.
  5. Pizza Hut — Delivery guy, cook, shift manager.
  6. Dominos — Delivery guy.
  7. Little Ceasers — Assistant manager.
  8. Pipe refitting yard — Grunt labor for 1 day.
  9. Lepo — Grunt labor in a chemical factory.
  10. Securitas — Security guard.
  11. SBDC, PPDC — Web developer (back in 1995!)
  12. Texas.Net — Technical Support
  13. Wendy’s — Order taker.
  14. End of the Trail Computers — Computer tech.
  15. Stellar Computing — Technical Support.
  16. RMI — Technical Support.
  17. MarketScape — IT, Technical Support.
  18. FirstWorld — Solaris Sys Admin, Perl Guru
  19. ChannelPoint — Web Design Engineer.
  20. Kincaid Technologies — Software Developer.
  21. USA.NET — Unix System Administrator.
  22. Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital — Customer Service.
  23. Agilent — Unix Security / Account Management.
  24. CMC — Linux Administrator / Web & Software Developer.
  25. MX Logic — System Engineer.
  26. Agilent — Deep Support Unix Engineer.
  27. Aeroflex — Unix Engineer.
  28. MX Logic — Software Engineer.

Quite a few jobs, eh? Things have settled down recently, and I hope to remain where I’m at for a very long time. I have no plans of leaving, and the company appears to be very stable for the time being. Let’s hope that nothing changes. If it does, oh well. I’ll roll with the punches like I always do.
