WoW Peer Pressure

I’m going to school to get my BS in CIS from Regis University. I’m on summer break right now, so I have no classes for 4 months. I decided that with all of my free time, I would pick a computer game and play it to the end (if I can reach the end in 4 months time.) The game that I picked was The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Shortly after I bought the game (and opened it,) I started getting IMs and emails from some friends trying to convince me to buy World of Warcraft and play with them. I knew that I wouldn’t have enough time to play both games, so I’ve politely told my friends that I won’t be playing WoW. They still bug me, but in a friendly way.

If Oblivion goes quickly enough, I may do the WoW thing, but I doubt it. I’m going to wait until I get my degree before I hop into a game that will require as many months of dedication as a MMOG will take. It’ll be a kind of graduation present for myself. However, my wife and my advisor are already talking about me getting my Masters degree once I’m done with the Bachelors degree. I’ve told both of them that I’m going to take one thing at a time.
